Weed Control

An effective Weed Control Program requires 6 Applications during the Year, each delivered at the proper time.

Weed Control Program – 6 Applications during the Year

1st Application - Pre-emerge
This application is applied to control spring weeds for 3-3 1/2 months. It also contains a post-emerge to take out existing weeds. This will help to promote optimal growth in the spring as your turf will not have to compete with the weeds.

2nd Application - Weed and Feed
This application is done in late April or early May. It contains a post-emergent to take out existing weeds along with a high nitrogen fertilizer to jumpstart growth and add a vibrant green color to your turf.

3rd Application - Granular Fertilizer
This application is applied 35-45 days after the weed and feed. The application contains a balanced fertilizer to continue optimal growth for your turf and balance the root system and maintains the vibrant green color.

4th Application - Granular Fertilizer
This application will be made around July 4th. Like the 3rd application, it will be another balanced fertilizer that will continue healthy top growth, vibrant green color and an established root system.

5th Application - Granular Fertilizer
This application will be made around Labor day. It will be low in nitrogen and heavy in potassium and will help establish a good root system going into the fall and winter months.

6th Application - Pre-emerge
This application is another pre-emergent and is applied in October or November. It will take out any existing winter weeds and prevent any new weeds from coming up for the following 90 days. We do split applications on pre-emerge because spring and winter weeds are different.
